Myradon

Bear Force 1 - 1st Session

We started in a dungeon and some Chancellor dude and some Gnome helped us escape. After fighting some dire rats and some spider swarms and shit, we were teleported by the Amulet of Kordon to Kordon’s Rest. We met this bigass orc cleric and Dart got cockblocked by Zaber.

The Dungeon:

My attempt to aid Perabeth has failed.. Sineg has successfully taken the city and this city’s invasion is only just the beginning. All of my fellow Yowen comrades have fallen and in a turn of events they managed to take me alive. Beaten, bruised, but not broken; they left in me in a cell to rot, or wait.. for what? I wished not to find out.

The dungeon had not been in short supply of prisoners. After the siege several people who opposed the take over were either killed or thrown in the dungeon. The cell I was in definitely had a band of misfits.

  • There was a half-elf rouge that seemed to have been in here before the invasion even started.
  • A wizard fellow, who was frantically pacing around the cell and constantly talking to himself. (The rouge had mentioned the wizard was thrown in the dungeon for using his magic for perverted acts but I have the feeling that he was just trying to jest to take a jab at the wizard for annoying him and to get his mind of the circumstance.)
  • A female dwarf cleric who had served the castle and fought against Sineg attackers.
  • A female elf ranger. She wasn’t one for words.. mostly just watched the other interact.
  • And then there was me. Kradon Zabear, a human paladin of Pelor.

With all of us different in or own way; there seemed to be no problem with us getting along. At that moment, we all had a common enemy and were sharing the same hell together.. our kinship had been forged.

It was through the blessing of Pelor that we managed to be freed. The Chancellor of Perabeth, Luke, had been in the cell across from us and was rescue Fonkin, the Shadowhand of Lord Perabeth. Luke needed an escort since the path to escape was dangerous; we were able to re-equip ourselves and were ready for a fight (or so I thought). Luke opened a secret tunnel to a lower sewer passage where we ran into some dire rats.

Dire_Rat.jpeg Our party was rusty at best, it would almost be comical if we weren’t fighting for our lives. The ranger and cleric couldn’t properly aim and missed almost every shot fired. The rouge had fought well until he dropped his dagger into the shit pool and had to stick his arm in to retrieve it. The wizard was frantically searching for “treasure” at odd times and weird places… But in the end we manage to pull through. After the rats were killed we had a swarm of spiders we burned our way through. In the end we made it outside but by then the guards were fully aware of our escape and were in pursuit of us. We could hear the echos of the soldiers closing in from the sewer cave we just came from.. Luckily Luke had a plan. There was an Artifact of Kordon around his neck that could teleport anybody with physical contact with it to Kordon’s Rest. Luke said he would still need our service but was giving us a choice to either go or stay. We all decided to follow Luke.

Kordon’s Rest:

With a burst of light and turbulent winds we arrived at Kordon’s rest within seconds of Luke activating his amulet. We were now in the nation Thorem; and within walking distance of the closest town. There we broke off with Luke; he had some other matters to attend to and said he’ll meet us at the Drowning Fish Tavern the following day.

The rest of the group was beat and needed rest. After spending a few nights in a Dungeon the first thing I wanted was a cup of ale and a soft bed. The tavern was full of a lively bunch, even as the day was coming to the end. We all spread out and enjoyed the ale they had to offer. Dart and I shared a room for the night and was looking forward to a good night rest… But that wouldn’t be tonight. Only a few hours after we went to sleep that the sound of clashing steel and screams came from outside.

It sounded like the town was under attack but from what? We all got up and rushed out to the town circle. Goblins! A group of goblins were attacking town’s people. Our timing could not have been better.

Dart um.. darted his way to the top of a house to provide cover. He manage to save a town’s woman from a goblin mid attack and the rest of us followed. To our advantage the goblins did not have their full attention on us; there was a dwarf fighter charging head on into the mob. The dwarf was quickly surrounded but it didn’t faze him a bit since he was able to hold his own..

After the dust settled and the sun was about to raise the fighting had stopped. A pile of goblin corpses remained and the injured towns people were able to be healed. I praised the fighter dwarf for his bravery and invited him to join us in our quest. He accepted the offer.

A letter on an unmarked grave

I finally made it back home. I know it’s been awhile, buy after everything that happened, I needed to be away. I actually made it all the way to Perabeth before someone picked me up for burglary. It was a rookie mistake, but you always taught me to learn from my mistakes instead of dwell, and it ended being better than I thought.

They took me all the way to the castle dungeon, which I thought was a bit much but my reputation may have proceeded me. Either way they threw me in this dungeon right, and I sat there for what felt like weeks before I saw another soul. Eventually more started to join me. A wizard who seemed to brag about some pervy magic tricks he was using on the outside, some dwarf from the guard I saw when I was first locked up, a ranger that was running some kind of poaching ring in the forests nearby, and a man of Pelor, I was never much one for religion but he seems bearable enough.

We were probably there for about a day longer before the deposed chancellor, Lake or Doug or something sprung us and asked us to help him. He got us to Kordon’s Rest and we managed to pick up some burly guy along the way. We headed for home and we almost there when someone ambushed us. I let some ranger we’d picked up take watch, another mistake. When we came to Jason was gone so we went and liberated him from his kidnappees. We saved him, us, it was just like before I left home, our whole band did what it took and we came out on top, just like the caravan before I left.

We finally made it home and I came to see you as soon as I could. The rest of the group is at the castle now, THE CASTLE, none of us even got to see the castle before I left, let alone be inside the inner city. I wish you were here to see it, but I’m looking for whoever did this to us. I’m going to find him and end him. I won’t make that mistake again. I won’t lose my friends, not like I lost them before.

After spending some time in traveling across Myradon i found myself in Kayria and had decided to trek back into Leamas to meet with some halfling friends along the way. On my way though i had been informed of growing unrest in Leamas. And while a Half-elf had been tolerated before it was unlikely that would be the case this time around so i decided to head directly into Thorem and to Cordon’s Rest, a beautiful part of the country. While i neared Cordons rest I had encountered unicorn tracks so I decided to track them. Upon their discovery I found them ambushed by 2 separate parties. One who was made of a a band of adventurers and the other was a horde of gnolls and kobolds led by 2 centaurs. They assaulted the other party across the clearing and i raised from out of my cover and fired at the centaurs with my arrows. They easily defeated us with sleep spells and swift speed. After we gathered ourselves I introduced myself to the party. A party comprised of a human paladin, Zabear, a human Wizard, Formosa, a half-elven rogue named Dart, an elven ranger, Sarah, a halfling druid Mena, and a Dwarf Barbarian, Gheist. We quickly tracked the centaurs and came upon a well guarded fort. After some searching we found a trap door leading into a basement of the fort and headed in…

The 17th

>I have returned after a long mental vacation. My fellow members of Bear Force One tell me I did pretty well on autopilot. It feels good to be home.
>We are continuing our quest when we encounter zombies. The group had the nerve to disturb me with zombies? Pfft. Pathetic creatures with no will to resist the simplest of command spells. Hmmm. After dispatching my last zombie with a simple magic missle striking first in the chest of the assailant and finally the head knocking it clean off… Well or so I had hoped. Really the force from the missile caused the brain to shut down.
>We continue some more on our quest when a Large Spider attacked us from the rear. The group handled this task easily by splitting up to flank the spider with yours truly delivering the finishing blow with a new spell I had learned. Burning Hands,
>We arrive at this town which will serve as a great way to procure some magic items. Whenever I figure out which ones I want.
>A sad note, but Mina our Dwarf Cleric heard the word from Paelor and has decided to embark on this personal quest. She wouldn’t tell us of it, what a fey mood this is. (D.F!)

The passage of time

We’ve barely been in town for a day but it feels like weeks. We found passage to light gate by way of some dirty sailors boat, but there’s something fucky about his crew, I can feel it. Either way, I dropped by the squirting mermaid in town and found the product not to be to my liking, so I went back to the scaled fish and regrouped with zabes to prepare for the morning.

We departed in the morning, and the first day went well enough. The food is shit but at least we get to eat on our trip. It was on the second day that some midgit naga….. things showed up. We got rid of them quickly enough though. Some Capitan or something tried to get the jump on me, but Formoses quick thinking made sure I cut him down in no time. I’m growing pretty fond of these guys. I haven’t though of the accident in weeks. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not yet, but that’s not important right now. We’ve got an army to take out and maybe in lightgate I’ll find the answers to the questions I’ve been asking for so long.
